Kilpatrick Townsend Ducks Tent Maker's Defamation Suit

Law360, New York (December 15, 2011, 6:05 PM EST) -- A Georgia federal judge on Thursday tossed insect-repellent tent maker Iguana LLC’s claims that Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton LLP sent an infringement letter to its suppliers on behalf of a purported patent holder in an underlying $30 million suit.

U.S. District Judge Clay D. Land found that a letter sent by a Kilpatrick attorney on behalf of Paul Lanham, the purported patent holder, was not sent to Iguana’s vendors and did not have the intention of harming its business, according to the order.
