Producers Seal Deal Ending $1.5M Rakim Album Dispute

Law360, New York (December 15, 2011, 6:15 PM EST) -- Music producer and distributor Tuscan Villa Entertainment Inc. on Thursday settled its $1.5 million suit against SMC Entertainment Inc. that alleged SMC had breached a joint venture agreement to release hip-hop star Rakim's 2009 comeback album "The Seventh Seal."

U.S. District Judge John G. Koeltl ordered the case closed after the parties settled their dispute. Details of the settlement were not available, and attorneys for the parties could not immediately be reached for comment Thursday.
