Facebook, Zynga Hit With Online Game Patent Suit

Law360, New York (December 16, 2011, 2:42 PM EST) -- Facebook Inc. and social game maker Zynga Inc. were hit with a suit Thursday by a Texas-based company that claims the social media heavyweights infringed a patent for an online game designed to promote websites.

The suit by Promotional Technologies LLC of Austin, Texas, claims that many of Zynga's popular online games, including FarmVille, Mafia Wars, Vampire Wars and Words With Friends, infringe the patent.
