GSA Needs Stricter Vehicle Acquisition Oversight: Audit

Law360, New York (December 16, 2011, 7:42 PM EST) -- The U.S. General Services Administration has systematically failed to properly oversee vehicle acquisition contracts valued up to $1.4 billion, the Office of Inspector General said Wednesday.

The Office of Travel, Motor Vehicle and Card Services and the Office of Acquisition Operations did not coordinate with the right supervisors at the Office of General Counsel in three contracts valued between $392 million and $1.4 billion, according to an internal audit conducted between January and August.
