Nevada AG Claims LPS Forged Foreclosure Docs

Law360, New York (December 16, 2011, 5:13 PM EST) -- Mortgage servicer Lender Processing Services Inc. falsified or forged thousands of documents related to home foreclosures from 2005 to 2008 and then tried to cover up the fraud, Nevada's attorney general claimed in a lawsuit filed Thursday.

LPS, the nation’s largest provider of default mortgage services, also obstructed communication between foreclosure attorneys and their clients and demanded kickbacks from foreclosure firms for referrals, according to the complaint.
