Stanford Yanks Proposal For NY Engineering Campus

Law360, New York (December 16, 2011, 5:17 PM EST) -- Stanford University has dropped its $2.5 billion proposal to build an applied sciences and engineering campus on New York City's Roosevelt Island, the California university said Friday.

After weeks of negotiations with city officials, Stanford said that it had decided it "could not be certain that it could proceed in a way that ensured the success of the campus."
