Insurers Buck Defense Costs For Budget Credit Card Action

Law360, Chicago (December 20, 2011, 8:29 PM EST) -- Travelers Property Casualty Co. of America and St. Paul Fire and Marine Insurance Co. sued a Budget Rent A Car licensee Monday in Georgia, saying they won't defend the company in a putative class action alleging it improperly printed customers' credit card information on receipts.

The insurers say the underlying suit, launched by a consumer in Missouri federal court in October, contains no claims that fall within their policies' definitions of covered injuries.
