Biggest Whole Foods Investor Leonard Green Plans Exit
By Liz Hoffman (December 21, 2011, 2:17 PM EST) -- Whole Foods Market Inc.'s biggest shareholder, private equity firm Leonard Green & Partners LP, plans to sell its remaining stock in the natural foods supermarket, Whole Foods said Tuesday.
The private equity firm will offer up to 13.9 million shares of Whole Foods stock, representing about 7.7 percent of the total outstanding, according to documents filed with the U.S. Securities & Exchange Commission.
The sale would represent all of Leonard Green's remaining investment, after previous stock sales in November and last year. The shares are owned by three Leonard Green subsidiaries, Green Equity Investors V LP, Green Equity Investors Side V...
