French Doctor Gets Time Served For Insider Trading

Law360, New York (December 21, 2011, 5:02 PM EST) -- A French doctor convicted for his role in an insider trading scheme was sentenced Wednesday in New York to time served and three years parole, his sentence lowered because of assistance he provided in prosecuting his co-schemer, the U.S. attorney's office said.

U.S. District Judge George B. Daniels sentenced Yves Benhamou for selling insider information on a drug trial to his friend Joseph “Chip” Skowron, a portfolio manager at FrontPoint Partners LLC hedge fund, causing Skowron to sell large amounts of stock in Human Genome Sciences...
