WPIX Loses Bid To Nix Ex-News Director's Age Bias Suit

Law360, Los Angeles (December 22, 2011, 8:47 PM EST) -- A New York federal judge on Wednesday rejected a bid by television station WPIX Inc. to toss an age discrimination lawsuit brought by an award-winning former news director who claims the station forced her out to hire a younger replacement.

U.S. District Judge William H. Pauley III issued an order denying WPIX’s motion for summary judgment in the case, ruling that former news director Karen Scott had raised genuine issues as to whether WPIX had violated the Americans with Disabilities Act and New York City and state humans rights laws when it canned her after 16 years at the station....
