Ephedra Judge Limits Doctor's Expert Testimony

Law360 (July 16, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A judge has ruled that only certain portions of the testimony of an expert witness for the plaintiffs in the multidistrict litigation over ephedra diet pills can be introduced at trial.

U.S. District Judge Jed S. Rakoff of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York on Friday granted in part and denied in part a bid by Herbalife International Inc. in the case to exclude the expert testimony of Dr. Lawrence W. Shields, the plaintiffs' retained case-specific neurologist.
