DOD Revamps Rules On Contractor Support, Oversight

Law360, New York (January 4, 2012, 3:08 PM EST) -- The U.S. Department of Defense last week updated its “outdated” operational contract support guidelines in order to clear up inconsistencies and ensure proper planning, oversight and management of agency contractors.

The existing planning policies had been causing “significant confusion” for contractors due to their disconnect with current practices and legislative mandates, especially regarding the policy on accountability and visibility requirements, according to a Federal Register notice the agency released Dec. 29.
