3rd Circ. Affirms Ex-NJ Gov't Worker's Bribery Sentence

Law360, New York (January 5, 2012, 6:24 PM EST) -- The Third Circuit on Thursday upheld a 42-month bribery sentence for a former New Jersey Department of Labor investigator, rejecting his argument that he should have received a lighter sentence because of his health problems.

The appeals court ruled that it had no doubt as to the reasonableness of the sentence imposed in January 2011 on James Peyton, who pled guilty to filing fraudulent tax forms for temporary labor companies in exchange for bribes.
