Pension Fund Trumps Firms To Lead $6B Sino-Forest Suit

Law360, New York (January 9, 2012, 2:07 PM EST) -- A Canadian judge on Friday chose Koskie Minsky LLP and Siskinds LLP over two other law firms to lead a putative class action against Sino-Forest Corp., staying similar class actions by investment funds and shareholders.

Ontario Superior Court Judge Paul Perell chose Koskie and Siskinds over boutique law firms Rochon Genova LLP and Kim Orr Barristers PC to progress with a suit on behalf of a workers pension fund that had invested in Sino-Forest before an analyst accused the firm of misrepresenting its business.
