Google Tells 7th Circ. To Zap Android Mark Appeal

Law360, Los Angeles (January 9, 2012, 10:18 PM EST) -- Google Inc. asked the Seventh Circuit on Friday to affirm dismissal of a trademark infringement suit brought by Eric Specht, saying the owner of the short-lived Android Data Corp. had abandoned his trademark and any right to sue over the company’s Android mobile device software.

“There is no evidence that Specht used the Android Data mark for any goods or services whatsoever after Android Corp. was shut down in late 2002, up through at least the beginning of 2008,” attorneys for Google wrote in a brief...
