Microsoft Keeps Customers In Dark On Data Sharing: Suit

Law360, New York (January 11, 2012, 2:14 PM EST) -- A California resident launched a class action Monday accusing Microsoft Corp. of violating a state law that requires companies to disclose to customers how their information is shared with third parties, one of several such suits to be filed recently.

Plaintiff Max Smith claims Microsoft does not post contact information on its website for customers interested in learning what personal information Microsoft has shared with companies in the past year and which companies received the data.
