AmeriGas Told To Cut Propane Unit From $3B ETP Buy

Law360, New York (January 11, 2012, 2:46 PM EST) -- The Federal Trade Commission on Wednesday ordered AmeriGas Partners LP to exclude Energy Transfer Partners LP's propane cylinder exchange unit from its proposed $2.9 billion acquisition of the company's propane and propane products divisions as a condition for allowing the deal.

According to a consent order, AmeriGas agreed not to include Heritage Propane Express in the acquisition of Energy Transfer, which was announced in October.
