Power Plants, Texas Topped GHG Sources In 2010: EPA
According to the EPA, power plants accounted for 72 percent of greenhouse gas emissions reported in 2010, leaps and bounds beyond the second-place industry finisher, petroleum refineries, which emitted about 6 percent of the reported emissions. Chemicals caused 5.4 percent of the emissions, the agency said.
