Activision Hit With Patent Suit Over Gamer Info System

Law360, New York (January 12, 2012, 1:42 PM EST) -- Paqits LLC slapped Activision Blizzard Inc. with a lawsuit in Texas federal court on Wednesday, claiming a social networking feature on the video game publisher's gaming website infringes its patent.

The suit accuses Activision of infringing U.S. Patent Number 7,010,599, which covers a system that allows users to grant each other enhanced access to their personal profiles. Paqits says it is the owner by assignment of all rights in the patent, which was issued in March 2006.
