Sony Wants TV Class Action In Federal Court

Law360, New York (July 19, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Sony Electronics Corp. has asked that a putative class action over allegedly faulty televisions be removed from California state court to district court.

The electronics giant on Tuesday filed a notice of removal in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California, arguing that all of the conditions for locating the case in federal court have been satisfied. The plaintiffs had filed their complaint in the Superior Court of California on April 27.
