E&Y Denied Another Bid To Quash OT Action

Law360, New York (January 17, 2012, 7:28 PM EST) -- A federal judge on Tuesday shot down accounting giant Ernst & Young LLP's request that she reconsider her decision not to dismiss a proposed class action accusing the company of misclassifying accountants and denying them overtime.

Former Ernst & Young accountant Stephanie Sutherland's lawsuit, filed in April 2010 in New York federal court, is one of several similar lawsuits alleging that the company wrongly classified some of its workers as exempt from overtime requirement laws and failed to properly compensate them.
