AIG Hit With $100M Suit Over Workers' Compensation

Law360, New York (July 19, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Insurer American International Group Inc. has been hit with a $100 million lawsuit over claims it dodged millions of dollars in workers' compensation reinsurance premiums for more than two decades.

The complaint, filed in Minnesota's district court Tuesday by the state's workers' compensation associations, accused AIG and a slew of subsidiaries, including AIU and American Home Assurance, of a long-standing practice of false reporting to avoid payments.
