DOD Mismanages 85% Of Unfinalized Contracts: Report

Law360, New York (January 19, 2012, 6:32 PM EST) -- The inspector general for the U.S. Department of Defense said last week the agency needed to refine its guidance on acquisition procedures after a report found contracting personnel mismanaged unfinalized contracts more than 85 percent of the time.

DOD contracting personnel failed to consistently comply with statutory and agency requirements for 216 of the 251 undefinitized contractual actions, or UCAs, reviewed in the Jan. 13 report.
