Judge Keeps LCD Price-Fixing Suits Alive

Law360, New York (January 19, 2012, 2:08 PM EST) -- A California judge on Wednesday rejected separate attempts to scuttle two antitrust suits waged by electronics retailers against AU Optronics Corp. and other thin-film transistor liquid crystal display makers, in ongoing multidistrict litigation alleging price fixing in the industry.

Judge Susan Illston denied motions to dismiss filed by AU, LG Display Co. Ltd., Chi Mei Optoelectronics Corp. and others against four indirect purchaser retailers who claim that the electronics manufacturers' long-running price fixing conspiracy boosted the prices they paid for LCD products.
