Judge Denies Injunction Vs. eSpeed, But Sees Clear Showing Of Patent Validity, Infringement

Law360, New York (February 15, 2005, 12:00 AM EST) -- A federal judge has denied Trading Technologies’ motion for an injunction against Cantor Fitzgerald's eSpeed derivatives division, but acknowledged in his decision that there is “a clear showing of patent validity and infringement.”

The lawsuit, filed by Trading Technologies in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, asserts that software marketed by eSpeed infringes its patents for a screen that presents a static ladder price column against moving bid and asked market data with single-click order entry.
