Boeing Ends Helicopter Billing Suit For $4.4M

Law360, New York (January 20, 2012, 5:51 PM EST) -- Aerospace giant Boeing Co. will pay $4.4 million to settle an employee whistleblower's False Claims Act allegations that it overbilled the U.S. Department of Defense for overhauls of Chinook helicopters at a Pennsylvania plant, federal prosecutors said Friday.

Boeing must also retrain the employees at the plant and update the software the company uses to track its billing, according to the settlement. Boeing will also implement a new labor tracking computer system for its defense manufacturing facilities around the world, prosecutors said.
