Bayer Ducks High Court Review Of Suit Over Crawfish Crop

Law360, New York (January 23, 2012, 2:14 PM EST) -- The U.S. Supreme Court refused Monday to review the Fifth Circuit's decision to dismiss a putative class action brought by crawfish buyers and processors against Bayer CropScience LP and an insurer over a Bayer pesticide that allegedly devastated Louisiana's crawfish crops.

The plaintiffs had challenged the Fifth Circuit's ruling in June that a Louisiana federal court had justifiably granted summary judgment to Bayer and its insurer Allianz Global Risks U.S. Insurance Co. in May 2010.
