Obama Taps Pentagon Acquisition Chief, 3 Others For DOD

Law360, New York (January 24, 2012, 4:51 PM EST) -- President Barack Obama on Monday nominated the Pentagon's acting acquisition chief, Frank Kendall, to stay on the job, while appointing three other top U.S. Department of Defense positions.

Kendall has been acting undersecretary of defense for acquisition, technology and logistics since October, when he replaced his former boss, Ashton Carter. Carter was sworn in as deputy secretary of defense Oct. 9.

The president also nominated Erin Conaton, currently the undersecretary of defense for the Air Force, as the new undersecretary of defense for personnel and readiness....
