Gingrich Faces Suit Over ‘Eye Of The Tiger’ Use

Law360, New York (January 30, 2012, 7:38 PM EST) -- Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich was hit Monday with a trademark infringement suit in Illinois by a member of the band Survivor who claims Newt 2012 Inc. has been unlawfully using the song “Eye of the Tiger” during campaign stops.

In a complaint filed in Illinois federal court, Frankie Sullivan’s Rude Music Inc. claimed Gingrich has played and continues to play the iconic theme song from “Rocky III” as he walks onto the stage at political rallies and other events.
