Feds Poised To Charge Credit Suisse Traders With Fraud

Law360, New York (January 31, 2012, 10:27 PM EST) -- Federal prosecutors will reportedly soon accuse several former Credit Suisse Group AG traders of misstating the value of mortgage bonds.

U.S. Attorney for the District of New York Preet Bharara's office is preparing a criminal complaint that alleges the traders published inflated prices of mortgage bonds in order to increase their bonuses, even though they knew the bonds were worth less, the Wall Street Journal said Tuesday, citing people familiar with the matter.
