Groups Seek To Rout SF Hotel On Historic Army Base

Law360, New York (February 3, 2012, 3:36 PM EST) -- The Presidio Historical Association and the Sierra Club on Wednesday sued the Presidio Trust, the government organization tasked with protecting San Francisco's historic army base, claiming it had no right to approve zoning changes to allow for a proposed 14-building hotel on the premises.

The proposal to demolish 94,000 square feet of buildings in the Main Post area of the 1,491-acre national park and construct a 95,000-square-foot hotel, 70,000 square feet of which will be new construction, is not in line with the trust's federal mandate...
