BMW Smoothes Out Fight Over Mini Cooper Windshield Cracks

Law360, New York (February 7, 2012, 3:43 PM EST) -- BMW of North America LLC has agreed to partially reimburse customers for windshield repairs to settle a putative class action claiming it violated warranties and hid that the windshields on its Mini Cooper vehicles cracked easily, according to a motion filed Monday.

If approved, the proposed settlement would end a pair of putative class actions that were consolidated in California federal court in November. The four BMW customers who brought the suits are seeking to represent a nationwide class of more than 193,000 consumers who bought...
