OneBeacon Exits NextG Suit Over Wildfire Probe For Now

Law360, New York (February 13, 2012, 2:07 PM EST) -- A California federal judge on Friday dismissed OneBeacon America Insurance Co. from NextG Networks Inc.'s lawsuit over costs stemming from a state investigation into NextG's maintenance of utility poles that fell and sparked a nearly 4,000-acre fire in 2007.

However, U.S. District Judge Ronald Whyte gave NextG 30 days to fix its complaint to show why it was essential for the company to participate in the California Public Utilities Commission's investigation into the Malibu, Calif., fire to reduce its potential liability in lawsuits over the fire....
