SunPower Says Ex-Employees Gave Stolen Info To Rival

Law360, New York (February 13, 2012, 8:35 PM EST) -- Solar energy system manufacturer SunPower Corp. sued rival SolarCity Corp. and five former SunPower sales employees in California federal court on Monday, accusing the employees of stealing confidential company information and taking it with them to new jobs at SolarCity.

The suit claims that shortly before leaving SunPower, the employees copied tens of thousands of files on USB drives and external hard drives containing confidential sales and market data, breaching a confidentiality agreement and violating the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act.
