Sony Faces Patent Suit Over PlayStation 3

Law360, New York (July 30, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Sony Corp. of America has been hit with a lawsuit alleging its PlayStation 3 infringes a patent covering the partitioning of a computer program into smaller concurrent processes, and seeking an order for the “impounding and destruction” of all Sony products found to encroach on the patent.

Newport Beach, Calif.-based Parallel Processing Corp. filed the lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas on Thursday.
