Social Media Monitoring Program No Cause For Worry: FBI

Law360, New York (February 14, 2012, 6:47 PM EST) -- The FBI sought Tuesday to reassure the public that its recently unveiled interest in monitoring social media websites in order to improve its operations would be implemented in a manner fully consistent with all privacy concerns.

In January the FBI issued a request for information to determine the capabilities of the IT industry to provide an “open source and social media application,” according to the FBI.
