Amazon Buys 3 City Blocks In Seattle For Tower Complex

Law360, New York (February 16, 2012, 6:46 PM EST) -- Internet retail giant Amazon Inc. has agreed to buy three city blocks in downtown Seattle and plans to build a 1-million-square-foot tower on each of them, in what may be the biggest real estate deal in the city's history, the seller of the properties said Thursday.

Al Clise, chairman of Clise Properties Inc., said his firm signed a purchase-and-sale agreement with Amazon "a few weeks ago" for the blocks in Seattle's Denny Triangle neighborhood, likely the future site of Amazon's corporate headquarters.
