9th Circ. Shuts Down Consumers' HP Laptop Defect Action

Law360, Chicago (February 16, 2012, 6:32 PM EST) -- The Ninth Circuit upheld the dismissal Thursday of a putative class action that accused Hewlett-Packard Co. of hiding a defect in its Pavilion Notebook computers that created a safety issue after warranties expired, quashing the consumer plaintiffs' bid to revive the suit.
