NY Stays On The Hook For $100M In Eminent Domain Row

Law360, New York (February 21, 2012, 4:32 PM EST) -- A New York appeals court on Friday derailed the state’s bid to avoid paying more than $100 million to a real estate firm for a parcel of land in Long Island that the state took in 2005 to expand Stony Brook University.

An appeals panel denied a motion by the state of New York to reargue its 2011 appeal of two earlier state court rulings, according to an order the Second Judicial Department of the Supreme Court of the State of New York issued Friday....
