Megaupload Founder Wins Bail In New Zealand

Law360, New York (February 22, 2012, 4:08 PM EST) -- Kim Dotcom, the infamous founder of file-sharing and alleged piracy site Megaupload.com, was granted bail Wednesday by a New Zealand district court, as he continues to await extradition proceedings that could land him in a U.S. courtroom.

Dotcom, 38, a citizen of Germany and Finland but a resident of New Zealand and Hong Kong, was granted bail by Judge Nevin Dawson in an Auckland district court after being held since his arrest Jan. 19.
