Bausch & Lomb Sues Again Over Eye Vitamin Patent

Law360 (March 8, 2005, 12:00 AM EST) -- Eye care company Bausch & Lomb Inc. has sued yet another rival over patents for a dietary supplement designed to combat eye disease.

Bausch & Lomb’s lawsuit, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of New York in Rochester, names as defendants Inverness Medical Innovations Inc. and its wholly owned subsidiary, IVC Industries of New Jersey.

The suit claims that the two companies manufacture and distribute eye vitamins that infringe on Bausch & Lomb’s patent rights to the high-potency antioxidant and mineral formula...
