Hospital Administrator Cops To $116M Medicare Scam

Law360, Washington (February 23, 2012, 3:45 PM EST) -- A Houston hospital assistant administrator pled guilty in Texas federal court Wednesday to racking up $116 million in fraudulent Medicare charges for mental health and substance abuse treatments, as well as paying kickbacks to patients and assisted-living facility owners for their participation.

Over four years, Mohammed Khan charged Medicare $116 million for Riverside General Hospital's partial hospitalization program services that weren't necessary or rendered to Medicare recipients, prosecutors said.
