Diebold Settles Calif. Technicians' Wage Action

Law360, Los Angeles (February 24, 2012, 6:23 PM EST) -- Diebold Inc. has settled a Fair Labor Standards Act class action brought by nearly 350 California technicians who claimed the technology services provider underpaid them, according to a court order dismissing the action Thursday.

The settlement puts to bed two-year-old claims in California federal court that North Canton, Ohio-based Diebold failed to compensate the technicians for overtime and time they spent on call going back to 2005.

Named plaintiff Julius Francisco filed the lawsuit in August 2009, alleging Diebold violated the FLSA and California labor laws...
