Expedia Hit With Suit Over Online Ticketing Patents

Law360, New York (February 28, 2012, 4:56 PM EST) -- Patent-licensing firm CEATS Inc. accused Expedia Inc. of stealing its patented technology for selling plane tickets online in a suit filed against the online travel company Monday in Texas federal court.

Expedia — also the operator of Hotwire.com and Hotels.com — has been selling airline tickets on its websites in a way that infringes six of CEATS' patents, according to a complaint filed in the Eastern District of Texas.
