Galleon-Linked Fund Manager's Trial To Stay In NY

Law360, New York (February 29, 2012, 8:08 PM EST) -- A federal judge on Wednesday denied Galleon Group LLC-linked hedge fund manager Doug Whitman's request to move his insider trading trial to his native California, saying New York courts have a special connection to Wall Street.

Whitman, the 54-year-old head of Silicon Valley-based Whitman Capital LLC, argued he should be able to be near his family as he is tried on four securities fraud-related counts, which include allegations of insider trading in Google Inc., in July.
