'Tree Of Life' Producer, Distributor Settle Arbitration Suit

Law360, New York (February 29, 2012, 4:43 PM EST) -- The production company behind the Academy Award contender “The Tree of Life” and its U.K. distributor last week settled a California suit seeking to vacate a $1.3 million arbitration award stemming from a contract dispute over U.K. distribution of the film.

Cottonwood Pictures LLC and Icon Film Distribution Ltd. asked U.S. District Judge John A. Kronstadt to dismiss with prejudice a suit, filed in December, that had sought to overturn the arbitration award of almost $1.3 million plus attorneys' fees, on the grounds that the arbitrator...
