Pret A Manger Gets Green Light To Settle Trainee OT Suit

Law360, New York (February 29, 2012, 7:35 PM EST) -- A judge in Manhattan preliminarily approved a $299,000 settlement Wednesday in a class action accusing Pret A Manger (USA) Ltd. of misclassifying workers who participated in Pret's manager-in-training program as exempt from state and federal overtime pay requirements.

U.S. District Judge Barbara Jones signed an order granting conditional class and collective action certification to a class of current and ex-workers who have participated in the training program for the soup, salad and sandwich shops in New York since Aug. 16, 2005, or in Washington or Illinois...
