China Takes Up Michael Jordan's IP Beef With Sneaker Co.

Law360, New York (March 1, 2012, 4:48 PM EST) -- A Chinese court agreed Thursday to adjudicate Michael Jordan's allegations that a Chinese shoemaker is misappropriating the basketball icon's name and trademarks to sell its line of sneakers.

The court agreed to consider Jordan's allegations that Qiaodan Sports Co. Ltd. is selling merchandise that draws on the retired athlete's name, uniform number and other trademarks associated with the basketball player, according to a statement posted on Jordan's website.
