US Wants Strict Sentence For Ex-Winston Atty In Starr Fraud

Law360, New York (March 1, 2012, 6:03 PM EST) -- The U.S. government on Wednesday recommended a strict sentence for former Winston & Strawn LLP partner Jonathan Bristol for his role in helping former money manager to the rich and famous Kenneth Starr launder almost $19 million stolen from clients.

Bristol, who has already agreed to pay $18.8 million in restitution, could face up to five years in prison for what the government said was his essential contribution to Starr's scheme. Bristol pled guilty in May to one count of money laundering.
