Parsec Gets OK In $3.6M Rail Worker OT Settlement

Law360, Los Angeles (March 2, 2012, 5:53 PM EST) -- A California judge on Friday preliminarily approved a $3.6 million settlement by a class of about 1,800 current and former Parsec Inc. employees who claim the railroad loading contractor shorted them overtime and violated the Golden State’s  meal and rest break laws.

“Subject to any objections from class members that the court receives, the court finds that this is a fair, reasonable and adequate settlement,” U.S. District Judge Dolly M. Gee told attorneys for both sides Friday, approving the agreement nearly three months after raising concerns...
